ALEJANDRO CASONA'S BIRTHPLACE
Located just a few metres from La Casona, the current Casa'l Churro was the house where Alejandro Casona was born in 1903. It was actually the house of his paternal grandparents, a much more humble house than that of the Llano-Flórez family, but with beautiful features and proportions, which boasts all the typical elements of the traditional architecture of the area.
Alejandro's grandfather was one of the thirteen blacksmiths who, in 1872, founded the Besullo Industrial Society, an adventure ahead of its time and about which you can learn more by clicking here.
All of Alejandro's brothers and sisters studied to be teachers, like their parents, but some of them also studied other fields. His sister Matutina, for example, was a pediatrician, and his brother José, a lawyer. This is a house from which a large line of teachers emerged, very much in the style of the town of Besullo, which came to have around 30 teachers in national schools.
Today, the house is still owned by Alejandro Casona's family.
AS ALEJANDRO CASONA'S BIRTHPLACE IS A PRIVATE HOME, THE INTERIOR IS NOT ACCESSIBLE DURING GUIDED TOURS, BUT FROM THE OUTSIDE WE ADMIRE THE BEAUTY OF ITS SHAPES AND LOOK DEEPER AT THE PERSONALITIES OF THE CASONA FAMILY.
